A BETTER WAY
is getting the care you need exactly where you need it.
Our Practice Philosophy
To provide care that is proactive, patient-centered and prevention-oriented. To see patients on a regular and detailed basis, and respond promptly to urgent care needs. To transform reactive, crisis-oriented care into proactive, preventive medicine, reducing unnecessary emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and 30-day readmissions and keeping patients healthy and at home.
Doctors Making Housecalls was created to serve patients in the comfort of their own environment. We are the gold-standard in home-based patient centered care and it is our mission to deliver the highest quality primary care available anywhere to patients of all ages, in more than 150 communities across North Carolina. Comprehensive Primary Care
DMHC clinicians improve quality of care and reduce costs by practicing what we call “proactive primary care.” By visiting patients often and in-depth, we are able to diagnose and treat problems before they become medical and/or financial crises. We provide comprehensive primary care to patients ages 3 to 103, and specialize in caring for complex, high-risk and high-needs patients. We serve as the primary care physician for the vast majority of our patients, and are dedicated to developing strong and lasting connections, assuming ongoing responsibility for their care, and coordinating any subspecialists or outside resources that may be required.
We offer same-day or next-day service, seven days a week and come right to your door, at home or in your office. We do not provide emergency services. If you have a true medical emergency, you must go directly to the emergency room or call 9-1-1!
We provide a full range of geriatric medical services, including proactive, preventive care, complete geriatric assessments, diabetic screenings, hospice and palliative care, podiatry, ophthalmology, psychiatry, vision testing, wound care and more.
Preventive Medicine/Annual Physical Exam
We provide a full range of preventive medical services, including comprehensive physical examinations, as well as camp, school and sports physicals. We will schedule exams at your convenience, at home or in your office.
In addition to the periodic health exam, our preventive medical services also include EKGs, PAP smears, mammography, vision testing, prostate screening, flu shots, tetanus vaccines, and blood cholesterol and glucose tests, all done in home.
Our contract phlebotomists will draw your blood for whatever laboratory tests may be required to fully evaluate any medical problem and it’s done in the comfort of your home or senior residence.
Using state-of-the-art Welch Allyn technology, we perform EKG studies with computer analysis and interpretation, in your home or office.
X-Ray and Medical Imaging Studies
DMHC can coordinate all medical imaging studies, including traditional x-rays, mammography, CT, MRI, Ultrasonography, and echocardiograms. Many (but not all) of these studies can also be done in your home.
